This page says "Normal bombs are usually most useful when dropped, but Sticky Bombs are very useful when thrown", but my experience is the opposite. Sticky Bombs are good for the occasional blowing up of the ceiling, but not so good for general use and enemy attacking; they'll often stick to something in the way of their destination, and can't bounce to it like regular bombs usefully do when thrown. What do you guys think? --—Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.127.240.185 (talk • contribs)
- I wrote that, feel free to completely change it, I'm really not that good of a player. But what I meant to say:
- If you're trying to bomb something on the ground, often the easiest method is just to walk to that square (right next to it) and lay the bomb down, because you can put them down precisely. If you throw the bomb, it's much harder to get it to land where you want. Also, 98% of the time, "where you want it to land" is someplace that's not difficult to walk to.
- Sticky bombs are good for bombing stuff halfway up a wall, or on the ceiling. (obviously)
- Are you saying something like this?
- If you're using the bomb as a thrown weapon (i.e. it can kill several enemies in a row while it's in flight, like a rock can, well before it explodes), then the non-sticky bombs are preferable because they act like a rock. Sticky bombs never act like a rock, they just stick to enemies instead.
- If that's what you're saying, then I think the current text applies when you're trying to bomb something, but your suggested change applies when you're trying to kill enemies with a thrown weapon. Is that correct? --Interiot 15:45, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
- Totally depend on the situation. Should be rewrote in this spirit.
- I killed my first alien queen with throwing damage using bombs, I don't want anyone else to experience that.
- Sticky bombs only disavantage is that they cannot go through ennemies and neither be throwned down a tunnel.
