The Webcannon is an equippable hand-held weapon that fires Spider Webs at high velocities. The Webcannon are sold in certain shops or found rarely in crates. Webcannons bought in shops cost 1800 plus an additional 200 for every level beyond the first, tying it with the parachute for second cheapest item in the game (after the bow).

Functionality Edit

The webs fired from the cannon can stack on each other, allowing you to make a bridge that can be used to cross dangerous terrain (including lava and spikes). It will also stop most enemies from moving long enough for you to either run away or kill them with a projectile weapon or the whip. The webcannon will produce a large-radius circle of light when fired, which can be used to see for an instant in dark levels. The webcannon also makes for an excellent sticky bomb replacement. Simply shoot a web onto the place you wish to bomb, then throw the bomb into the web.

Note that both the large and small varieties of spider are immune to webs; unlike the "natural" variety, webs fired from the cannon will slowly degrade over time. Also note that the web cannon does not work underwater.

You can use the webcannon to easily kill shopkeeper since it is one of the few items that you can use without purchasing right away.

To kill the shopkeeper:

1. Pick up the webcannon (or use your existing one if you have it)
2. Lure the shopkeeper out a bit (by moving towards the entrance)
3. Fire the webcannon on the shopkeeper and immediately jump on top of the shopkeeper
4. You will not get stuck on the web but rather continue to jump on the shopkeeper (do not move off until you are sure the shopkeeper is dead which will happen before the web disappears)
